JENA, La. — For the third straight week, the Class 1A Block Bears played up in classification. And for the third straight week, they ended up with a victory.
After wins over Class 3A Vidalia and Class 2A Ferriday, Block continued its surprising start to the season on Friday night with a 25-7 win over the Class 3A Jena Giants.
This was also the second straight win on the road for a Bears team that, despite winning the District 3-1A title last year, wasn’t expected to win too many games this season given how young this group of players is.
Block improved to 3-0 on the season while Jena dropped to 2-1. However, the Bears will have their work cut out for them next Friday at 7 p.m. when they play at Bastrop.

CENTREVILLE — After getting off to an 0-3 start, the Centreville Academy Tigers are heading in the right direction with two straight wins following their dominating win at homecoming over the Amite School Center Rebels.
Centreville (2-3) will look to make it three wins in a row when its hosts Bowling Green School next Friday at 7 p.m.
