FERRIDAY — Services for Roger Glen “Pard” Wiley, 69, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, after a long battle with cancer since August 2007, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Sutherland officiating.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. at the Topisaw Cemetery in Ruth with the Rev. David Moree officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wiley was born March 9, 1945, in Ferriday, the son of Cyrus Wiley and Beatrice Clark Wiley.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Wiley was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rodney Wiley; five brothers, Cyrus E. Wiley, Leland Wiley, A.E. Wiley, Jerry Thomas Wiley and Gary Wiley; one sister, Aline Wiley Bender; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John T. Reeves and Effie H. Reeves; two brothers-in-law, Harold Moak and Michael Reeves; and two sisters-in-law, Novis Wiley and Sandra Reeves Biddle and husband, Frank.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Norma Reeves Wiley; one daughter, Kim Wiley of Vidalia; one sister, Barbara Wiley Gillespie and husband, James, of Wisner, La.; special great-niece, Frankie Brooke Biddle; five sisters-in-law, Helen Wiley Robbins and husband, Art, Joann Wiley Price, Joyce Glenda Wiley, Jenny Wiley Scott and husband, Bob, and Theresa Wiley; and a large number of much loved nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Davis, Bull Wiley, David Wiley, Dennis Wiley, Patrick McCann, Blake Bullock and Michael Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce and Missy Smith, Billy Ray and Odessa Freeman, David and Dee Johnson, Eddie and Debra Stroud, Eddie and Peggy Crow, Sid and Marguerite Gowins, Bob and Sylvia Jones, J.L. and Hazel Barker, Lowrey Moak, Dr. Huey Moak, Dr. Stephen Soccaro and Dr. John Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
