VIDALIA — Services for Gregory P. Portis, 58, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Raymond Riley Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Portis was born Sept. 5, 1956, in Natchez, the son of Ritho and Dorothy Drumgold Portis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ritho Portis Jr.; one sister, Virlina P. Clay; and one son, Ritho Green.

Survivors include his wife, Tanya Williams Portis; one son, Gregory Sims of Chicago; three daughters, Felencia Scott of Cedar Hill, Texas, Velencia Robertson of Arlington, Texas and Louise Vaughn of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Jacqueline P. Williams and husband, George, of Missouri City, Texas, Elaine Griffin and husband, Kelton, of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Rosamond P. Robinson of Vidalia; 10 grandchildren; six nieces; two nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-nephew; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and neighbors.
