LISMORE, La. — Services for Samuel Price Gallup, 78, of Jonesville, who died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, in Jonesville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lismore Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Taylor, the Rev. Chad Franklin and the Rev. Byron Gray officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oswalt Cemetery in Lismore under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Gallup was born Nov. 26, 1936, in Ferriday, the son of Clarence Gallup and Opal Beard Gallup.

He was a member of Lismore Baptist Church.

Mr. Gallup served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Cynthia Gallup Wood.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bertha Gallup; two daughters, Bernadette Brown and Stacy Owen and husband, Keith, all of Jonesville; two brothers, Leo Mitchel and wife, Jenny, and Tony Mitchel and wife, Stephanie, all of Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Mary Core and husband, Robby, of Jonesville and Dorothy Millican and husband, Thomas, of Monterey; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bret Beard, Walter Duncan, Todd Wilson, David Whatley, Drew Brown and Cole McMillian.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Mitchell, Yankee Duncan, Earl Perritt, David Gaspard, Bobby Parker, Leo Mitchel and Zachary Brown.
