FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Charles Balford Barnes, 86, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou with the Rev. Gary Howington and Bro. Jerremy Howington officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Barnes was born on April 20, 1928, in Natchez, the son of Gene and Annie Jones Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julia Parker Barnes; his son, Jerry L. Barnes Sr.; two brothers, Eugene Barnes and Lionel Barnes; four sisters, Jenitta Curtis, Virgina “Doe” Fitts, Rose Foster and Carrie Ferry.

Survivors include his son, Gene Barnes Sr. and wife, Mary, of Bargersville, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Shelly Barnes of Vidalia; brother, Larry L. Barnes and wife, Beatrice of Vidalia; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jarrard Paul Barnes, Justin Barnes, Timmy Foster, Travis Houston, Gene Barnes Jr. and Lucas Barnes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Roberts, Red Roberts, Clyde Boling and Eric Mixon.
