NATCHEZ — Services for Velma McLendon Jamison, 83, who died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, will be at 2 p.m. at Riverside Church in Natchez with the Rev. Spruce Derden officiating.
Burial will follow at the Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Monday at the church.
Mrs. Jamison was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Leakesville, the daughter of Albert F. McLendon and Jettie Cynthia Ball McLendon.
She was a loving wife of 49 years, a Christian mother, grandmother and faithful friend.
Jamison was a member of Riverside Baptist Church for 57 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Carol Jamison; one grandson, Brad Dlynn Braswell; one son-in-law, Dlynn Braswell; and one sister, Jo Ann Birdwell.
Survivors include four daughters , Judy Braswell-Rand and husband, John, Nancy Carraway and husband, Larry, Patsy Parsons and husband, Cedric, Mary Jane Nettles and husband, Paul; one son, Gary Wayne Jamison and wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Jason and Angela Carraway, Devry Carraway, Lesia and Rodney Bunn, Cervinia Braswell, Elisha and Laura Parsons, Michelle and David Farley, Katye and Wesley McFadden, Christian and Keana Parsons, Stephanie Daniele Wallace, Summer Wallace, Jodan and Annie Nettles, Jessica and David Ludolph, Bryan Jamison; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Christian Parsons, Elisha Parsons, Bryan Jamsion, Jason Carraway, David Farley, Wesley McFadden, Mike Collier and Jordan Nettles.
