WILSON, N.C. — Memorial services celebrating the life of Annie Jo Credle, 89, who died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Peace Church in Wilson, N.C.

Arrangements were under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville, N.C.

Mrs. Credle was born May 25, 1925, in Collins, the daughter of Joseph F. Davis and Annie Mae Godard.

She was a 1943 graduate of Natchez High School where she was a member of her high school choir.

She married the love of her life, Benjamin Silas Credle, Aug. 13, 1944, at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church in Natchez. Together they shared a life of love, music and family for 57 years.

Annie Jo enjoyed her work and was a devoted employee at Supermarket Operations in Natchez where she served as a bookkeeper for 40 years.

Annie Jo shared her love of God with others and served as a Sunday school teacher for a number of years. She was an active member of Community Chapel Church of God in Natchez before she moved to Charleston, S.C. After living in Charleston and Mount Pleasant, N.C., for a number of years, she moved to Nash County, N.C., in 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, James D. Davis.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Gilbert and husband, Bob, of Treasure City, Bahamas; two sons, Scott Credle of Ellettsville, Ind., and Ed Credle and wife, Beth, of Nashville; one brother, Charles Godard and wife, Shirley, of Delhi, La.; eight grandchildren, Rob Gilbert and wife, Molly, of Mount Pleasant, Ben Gilbert and Emily of Hilton Head, S.C., Dawn Quaranta and husband, Mike, of Coral Springs, Fla., Benjie Credle and wife, Jessi, of Natchez, Melody Credle of Corinth, Christy Credle Manning and husband, Matt, of Spring Hope, N.C., Lauren Credle Dial and husband, Jacob, of Nashville, Tenn., and Ashley Credle of Tishomingo; five great-grandchildren, Ava Credle, Paxton Johns, Christian Quaranta, Jackson Quatanta and Jordyn Manning; and a number of nieces and nephews.
