VIDALIA — A Fayette woman was killed and others were sent to the hospital after a wreck on U.S. 61 North this afternoon.

Ferren A. Proby, 19, was killed on impact due to blunt trauma to the head and chest, Adams County Coroner James Lee said.

Proby’s vehicle was reportedly struck from the rear by another vehicle.

Several people from both vehicles were transferred to Natchez Regional Medical Center after the incident.

Another unidentified victim of the wreck was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The wreck occurred near the Adams County-Jefferson County line on U.S. 61 North on the Adams County side

The Mississippi Highway Patrol and Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.
