The calendar says fall, but we are still waiting on the autumn temperatures. While we wait, though, we have plenty of great news upon which to reflect.
The Natchez-Adams County Community Alliance met last week to discuss projects for the upcoming year. The Green Alliance asked the group for help promoting its interests in recycling. The partnership seems like a great avenue to explore.
The National Park Service has signed off on plans to include the site of the Forks of the Road into the Natchez National Historical Park. Paying appropriate tribute to this piece of history is long overdue, and we are excited that the NPS is on board.
Ferriday eighth-grader Donovan Bray has a bright future ahead of him — and that’s the way he likes it. It’s the brightness of the night sky that inspires Bray, a young science lover who wants to know more about astronomy.
More than 200 parents attended the Natchez-Adams School District’s Parent University last week; that’s a great crowd. We are proud first that the district hosts such an event, and second that so many parents attended.
The annual Bowie Festival filled the weekend with fun. From barbecue to pies, the festival was simply tasty. We offer a big “thank you” to all those who made it possible.
Cooler temperatures may come this week, and the fun of October will soon be upon us. It’s a great month to live in the Miss-Lou.
