NATCHEZ — Services for Hannah Wimberly, 86, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will follow the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Wimberly was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Natchez, the daughter of Andrew Smith Sr. and Bertha H. Smith.
She was a graduate of Brumfield High School and was a retired cook.
Mrs. Wimberly was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and fellowshipping with others.
Mrs. Wimberly was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Andrew Smith Jr., Clarence Smith and Henry L. Smith; one sister, Bertha S. King; one sister-in-law, Ruby L. Smith; one brother-in-law, Charles L. King Sr.; granddaughter, Lauren Brooke Richardson; and one son-in-law, Ventress McCallum Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Willie J. Wimberly Sr.; three sons, Willie J. Wimberly and wife, Linda, Charles J. Wimberly and wife, Emma Jean, and Dale L. Wimberly and wife, Maxine; four daughters, Donna McCallum, Geraldine Williams and husband, Dan, Joann Wimberly and Amelia L. White and husband, Greg; one brother, Willie L. Smith and wife, Ethel; one stepdaughter, Ruby Wimberly; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
