NATCHEZ — A Natchez man died Sunday after his dirt bike collided with a van at the intersection of East Wilderness Road and Crown Court.

At approximately 5:40 p.m., Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of a wreck between a van and a motorcycle, according to an ACSO accident report.

When deputies arrived, they found the motorcycle rider, Johnny Franklin, 23, unconscious with medical personnel tending to him.

The driver of the van told police that he was turning left onto Crown Court and did not see the motorcycle until the vehicles collided with each other.

Franklin was driving a dirt bike with no lights or reflectors. Franklin was transported to Natchez Regional Medical Center where he later died.
