NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Roosevelt “Pep” Havard, 80, who died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. today at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Havard was born on Jan. 16, 1934, in Franklin County, the son of Rev. Earnest and Leathia C. Havard.
Havard was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Hazel Mazique Havard.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Arneita W. Havard; son, Wayne Roosevelt Havard of Florida; three brothers, Frank James “F.J. Havard and wife, Celestine, of Natchez, Leslie Havard and wife, Margaret, of Fayette and Rev. Cleve Havard and wife, Belinda, of Florence; three sisters, Fannie Mae Champs, Sadie L. Scott, both of Natchez and Edith M. Ivory of Atlanta; adopted brother, Eric L. Havard of Texas; special nephew, M.J. Swazy of Alabama; godson, Tony Jones; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
