NATCHEZ — Services for Robert Ernest Cotten Jr., 88, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, will be at 11 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Cotten was a native of Meadville, the son of Robert Ernest and Wilkie Mae Cotten.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He was employed by the Ethyl Corporation and Southern Instruments before becoming a founding member of the MMR Group, Inc., in Baton Rouge, from which he retired in 1986, as vice president.

Mr. Cotten was preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Temple Cotten; his stillborn son; his parents; three brothers, Russell, Harris and Alphonse Cotten; and one sister, Janie Hutto.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Porter Cotten; one son Robert E. Cotten III and wife, Robin; two granddaughters, Emily and Allie Cotten; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Jed Lane Morris for his many years of compassionate care and to the caring staff of the Adams County Nursing Center.
