The Krewe of Phoenix recently announced its royalty for the 2015 Mardi Gras season.

The krewe will celebrate with its invitation-only king and queen’s ball Jan. 31 at the Natchez Community Center.

The invitation-only call-out ball will be from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Jan. 17 at the Natchez City Auditorium. Non-member tickets are $10.

The Krewe of Phoenix parade will be at 5 p.m. Feb. 13 in downtown Natchez. And the grand ball will be at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Natchez Convention Center. Tickets are $60 for non-members.

The royalty are:

Rosalie XXXIII Lisa Dale Mayers

Lisa is the daughter of the late Josephine Baldwin Young and the late Claude Harrison Dillingham.

She is a native of Natchez and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in petroleum engineering before obtaining a juris doctor from the University of Mississippi. Lisa is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Louisiana and has maintained a private law practice for 25 years with offices in Natchez and Vidalia.

Lisa is married to George Alan Mayers and together they share three children, Tyler, Alex and Allie.

She is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, a lifetime member of Junior Auxiliary and Phi Mu Sorority and she serves the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Association. Lisa is a member of the Mississippi and Louisiana State Bar Associations, the Adams County and Concordia Parish Bar Associations and she is active in the USTA Tennis Leagues. Lisa is a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church where she has worked as a youth leader for many years.

Lisa had the honor of serving as duchess in the first Krewe of Phoenix Royal Court in 1983. She has been an active member of the Krewe of Phoenix for many years, serving as royalty chairman and in other positions on the board.

Rex XXXIII William R. Ulmer II

William is the son of Anna “Ankey” Ulmer and the late William R Ulmer.

He was born and raised in Centerville and attended the University of Southern Mississippi before beginning his career in the land and timber industry.

He and his wife Leah moved to Natchez in 2000 and they have four children Mary Catherine, Josh, Maggie and Claire.

Billy is the owner of Woodhaven Corporation in Natchez, and has been a member of the Krewe of Phoenix since 2004.

He is a member of Beau Pré Country Club, Louisiana Forestry Association, Louisiana Loggers Association, Mississippi Loggers Association and First Baptist Church in Natchez.

In lieu of gifts, donations are requested to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society and the Natchez Children’s Home services Advocacy Center.

Mattie Smith — Duchess La Glorieuse 

Mattie was born and raised in Natchez. She attended Cathedral school from 3-year-old, pre-kindergarten through graduation. There she played basketball, softball and tennis. She received her Bachelor of Science in exercise science with a minor in chemistry from Ole Miss and went on to receive her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

She is currently employed by the Natchez Clinic Company.
Mattie is the daughter of Billy Key and Augusta Smith and has two brothers, Key Smith of Natchez and Turner Smith of Jackson. She is a member of St. Mary Minor Basilica and enjoys spending time with her family hunting, fishing and cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels.

Sam Kirby — Duke Great Sun

Sam is a native of Natchez, graduating from Trinity Episcopal Day School in 2004.

He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2009.

Sam is the office manager at Slover & Associates law firm.

He is a member of the Natchez Young Professionals of the Natchez Chamber of Commerce, the Leadership Natchez class of 2013, a board member for the Natchez Downtown Development Association and an organizer for the Miss-Lou Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides Walk. He also received the Emerging Leader Award from the Leadership Natchez Class of 2014.

Melissa Jones — Duchess Marie Therese

Dr. Melissa K Jones was born and raised in Slidell, La. She received her Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University and her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine.

After completing residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, La., Melissa knew she wanted to be close to home.  She has been practicing obstetrics and gynecology at the Natchez Women’s Center for more than a year and is happy to be a part of the Natchez community.  When not caring for the women of the Miss-Lou, Melissa enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends (especially her niece, Brynleigh) and LSU football.

Tommy Davis — Duke of Versailles

Tommy was born and raised in Natchez where he works for Farmer Electrical Services.

His hobbies include hunting and fishing and attending LSU football and baseball games.

He is a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez.

Brittany Ann Funderburg — Duchess Panmure

Brittany was born and raised in Natchez. She graduated from Cathedral in 2005. She attended Mississippi State University and served on the student government body. She attended Hinds Community College on a dance scholarship as a Hinds Highstepper. She also attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She received her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2011. While at UMMC she received the Colgate Community Dental Hygiene Award.

Brittany and her son Camp Blunschi moved back to Natchez after her graduation from UMMC when she was offered her current job as a dental hygienist for Dr. Carmen Adcock.

Brittany met her current boss through a call-out ball when she escorted her cousin, Carter Burns, during his skit. She is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club.

She is currently coaching her son’s NYSO soccer team. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Ferriday.

Will Godfrey — Duke Monfort Browne

Will was born and raised in Natchez, graduating from Trinity Episcopal School in 2005.

He then attended the University of Mississippi, where he majored in political science and received minors in history and public policy.

While in college, Will started working in politics and continues to do. After spending a brief period in the Washington, D.C., area working for House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), he returned home to Mississippi and is currently working for South Forward, a Political Action Committee that supports various candidates in the region.

Will serves as treasurer for the Young Democrats of Mississippi and is a member of the University of Mississippi Alumni Association and the First Presbyterian Church in Natchez.

Jana Katherine Junkin — Duchess Marguerite Theresa de Limos

A Natchez native, Jana is currently employed as a pharmaceutical representative with Pfyzer Pharmaceuticals in Lake Charles, La. Jana is the daughter of Dick and Pat Junkin and the sister of Rick Junkin and wife Bonnie, Gina Cauthen and husband David, and John Ward Junkin and wife Ashley. She is “favorite aunt” to her seven nieces and nephews.

Jana graduated from Cathedral High School in 1996 and the University of Southern Mississippi in 2000.

She has been an active volunteer in numerous civic events for many years. She has enjoyed various roles in the Confederate Pageant including queen in 1998. She is a member of St. Mary Basilica.

Any spare time Jana has is spent with family and friends, outdoor activities, music, reading and cheering her favorite football teams. She resides with her two dogs in Lake Charles but can be found most weekends where she loves best — in Natchez.

Andy Yates — Duke Manuel Gayosa Delimos

Andy was born and raised in Natchez where he attended South Natchez-Adams High School.

He worked 16 years in law enforcement in Adams County.

Currently he serves as district manager for Waste Management- Southwest Missisippi.

He is the father of two sons, Josh, who is a sous chef at Calcasieu in New Orleans, and Kent who is a senior at Mississippi State University in Starkville.

Andy served four years on the board of directors for Adams County Christian School.

Kristin Leigh Jordan — Duchess Eliza Lowe Little

Kristin Leigh Jordan was born and raised in Lafayette, La.

She graduated from LSU in 2006. She moved to Natchez after graduation.

She is married to Doug Jordan, and has three kids — Owen, 6, Anna Leigh, 5, and Adalyn Kate, 1.

She is an active member of the Natchez Garden Club, where she serves on the executive board and is current chairman of the Natchez Historic Tableaux.

She is current queen and president of the Queen Bees. She is very active at First Baptist Natchez, teaching GAs

Noble Guedon — Duke of Monmouth

Noble Guedon is the Integrated Solutions Department corporate manager for Goldman Equipment L.L.C.

He is also the owner of Noble Guedon Farms. Noble is a native of Church Hill.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business from Louisiana State University in 1999.

Noble is a fifth generation farmer. He is an active member of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation. He is currently the president of the Adams County Farm Bureau and chairman of the Mississippi Farm Bureau communications committee, which launched the campaign called Farm Families of Mississippi.

Noble has previously served as chairman of the MFBF Young Farmers and Ranchers.

Noble is a graduate of the LSU Ag Leadership program which prepares men and women who are established in their communities and dedicated to the agricultural industry to take leadership roles on issues that affect agriculture at local, national and global levels. Noble was also one of five rice producers in the United States selected to the USA Rice Leadership Development class which he graduated from in 2014.

He was named the 2013 Precision Ag Farmer of the Year at the National Cotton and Rice Conference.

Noble is also the chairman of the Adams County Farm Service Agency.

Noble is married to Fayla Guedon. They have two children, Caroline and Grayson. Noble has a commercial pilot’s license and enjoys flying in his spare time. He is a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church.

Duchess Varina Howell Davis — Mary Kay Doherty

Mary Kay is a 16-year resident of Natchez originally from Anchorage, Alaska.

She is married to Shawn Doherty together they have four children, Ian Doherty, Lauren Doherty, Chaz Jackson and Sydney Jackson. She is the daughter of the late John Gilbert Jr. of Big Lake, Alaska and Dawna Blyleven of Pahrump, Nev. Her Natchez parents are Babs and Ken Price.

Mary Kay works for Adams County as the youth court fiscal officer. She is the treasurer of the Adams County Coalition for the Children and Youth, executive board member of Tutu’s for Tata’s (a non-profit organization fundraising for breast cancer awareness in the Miss-Lou), a member of St. Mary Basilica, Pilgrimage Garden Club, Mississippi Association of Drug Court Professionals, Krewe of Phoenix, and the Krewe of Killarney. Mary Kay enjoys fundraising, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

David Andrew Stamper — Duke Jefferson Davis

David was born in Ohio, but moved to Fulton at the age of 5.

He has degrees in laser electro-technologies and liberal arts.

After an honorable discharge from U.S. Navy, David managed and owned retail jewelry businesses for 24 years. The last 10 years has been spent investing in and speaking on real estate at national and international events.

He is married to Lana and loves spending time with her, competing in cutting horse shows and playing golf.
