FAYETTE — Memorial services for Ida Mae Stampley-Stringer, 76, who died Sept. 17, 2014, at Ochsner Hospital in Kenner, La., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.
Mrs. Stringer was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Fayette, the daughter of Roy and Katie F. Stampley.
She retired in 1988 from the Doubletree Hotel in New Orleans. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fayette.
Mrs. Stringer was married to Willie Calvin Stringer Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Roy Stampley Jr., Albert Stampley and Jimmy Stampley; and three sisters, Yvonne Stampley, Thelma S. Gandy and Rochelle S. McKenzie.
Survivors include three children, Carolyn M. Stringer, Deborah A. Stringer-Blue and Willie Calvin Stringer Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Tiera Stringer; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Henry Stampley and wife, Eloise, Percy Stampley and wife, Geneva, McArthur Stampley and wife, Betty, Ray Stampley and wife, Leona, Gene Stampley and wife, Lillie, Julia S. Ballensaw and husband, Cordell, Catherine S. Green and husband, Izear, and Audrey S. Lowe and husband, Bobby; one sister-in-law, Mary Stampley; two brothers-in-law, George Gandy and Shedrick McKenzie; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
