PORT GIBSON — Graveside services for Charles William Rhoades, 83, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. today at Wintergreen Cemeterywith the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow in the cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Rhoades was born Jan. 17, 1931, the son of Charlie Whitmyer Rhoades and Eva Rodriguez Rhoades.
He was a lifelong resident of Natchez and graduated from Natchez High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed with the International Paper Company for 35 years.
He was an avid hunter and member of the Panola Hunting Club in Port Gibson.
He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
Mr. Rhoades was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Donnielee Harris Rhoades and his parents.
Survivors include two sons, William Harris Rhoades of Natchez and Charles Vance Rhoades and wife, Paula, of Vidalia, Ga.; one daughter, Marsha Rhoades Overton and husband, Donnie, of Waxahachie, Texas; two grandchildren, William Paul Rhoades and wife, Bevlynn, of Bonaire, Ga. and Holly Rhoades of Conyers, Ga.; and one great-granddaughter, Elise Richelle Rhoades of Bonaire, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Natchez Children’s Home, 806 N. Union St.
