MHSAA stays quiet on Boothe

Cathedral’s Wyatt Boothe’s eligibility appears to be in good shape.
MHSAA executive director Don Hinton said last week a meeting was scheduled for Monday about the ruling. Boothe’s eligibility came into question after the MHSAA received a complaint from a school.
However, neither Cathedral chief administrator Pat Sanguinetti or Judge Leo Boothe, Wyatt’s father, had heard from the MHSAA at 5 p.m. Monday.
“If (Wyatt’s eligibility) ever changed, they said I would be the first to know,” Sanguinetti said. “It’s 5 p.m., and I didn’t get a phone call and I didn’t anticipate one. They’ve already ruled him eligible.”
Calls to the MHSAA were not returned Monday.
Boothe played in Cathedral’s varsity basketball game Monday night against Trinity and scored seven points.
