FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Roger Lee Merrill, 24, of Ridgecrest, who died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Josh Morea officiating.

Burial will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Eva, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until time of services Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Ferriday.

Merrill was born on Sept. 10, 1990, in Natchez, the son of Carroll and Patricia Merrill.

He was a graduate of Huntington School and worked with his father as a diesel mechanic at Merrill’s Repair Service.

Merrill was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Elsie Merrill of Eva; grandfather, Edward Kenneth Sones of Jonesboro; uncle, Roger Merrill of Monterey; and aunt, Lori Sones of Jonesboro.

Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Dina Merrill Haines and husband, Chris, of Vidalia, and Jamie Merrill of Ridgecrest; grandmother, Katharine Sones of Jonesboro; nephew, Callon Haines of Vidalia; three uncles, Randy Merrill and wife, Peggy, of Monterey, Danny Merrill and wife, Connie, of Ferriday, and Edward Sones and wife, Kay, of Austin, Texas; and six cousins, Dan Merrill and wife, Emily, of Ferriday, Joey Merrill of Vidalia, Jeannie Merrill of Ferriday, Lacie Merrill of Natchitoches, Shelly Hudson of Tulsa, Okla., and Amanda Gaden and husband, Matt, of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Pallbearers will be Joey Merrill, Dan Merrill, Christian Loiselle, Jordan Jones, Brad Thibodeaux and Levi Kleinman.
