NATCHEZ — Services for Arthur Lee Granger, 80, of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2014, in Natchez, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel at West Gate Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Jerusalem Baptist Church No. 2 Cemetery in Kingston under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Granger was born May 3, 1934, in Natchez, the son of Herod Granger and Frankie Shropshire Granger.
He was affectionately known as “Uncle Bill” to his nieces, nephews and others.
Arthur was employed by the International Paper Company as a driver and cement laborer until his retirement. He enjoyed caring for his horses, riding his four-wheeler, vegetable gardening and fishing.
Mr. Granger was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Herod Granger Jr., Willie Granger, George Granger and John Granger; and three sisters, Mary Eliza Granger, Lucinda Foster and Minnie Bell.
Survivors include a special beloved brother, David Paul Granger Sr. and wife, Mary Ann; one niece, Kimberly Granger; one nephew, Paul Granger; two other brothers, James Granger and wife, Mamie, and Peter Granger and wife, Margaret; one sister, Margaret Richardson, all of Natchez; and a number of other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
