HOUSTON — Private graveside services for Ann Bronn Rayne, who died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, in Houston, will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
Burial will follow under the direction of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.
A celebration of life memorial will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church Murray Center, 4900 Jackwood, Houston.
Mrs. Rayne was born and raised in Natchez, the daughter of LeRoy W. Bronn and Nannie Mae Kelly Bronn.
She was a graduate of Ole Miss and married the love of her life, John Robert Rayne Sr., June 4, 1955.
Ann grew up in Natchez and formed a deep love for history and Southern culture. She was always ready with a story of interesting history or the people she knew. Through her life, she lived in Natchez, Houston, Corpus Christi, Texas and Covington, La. She made friends easily wherever she was and dedicated herself to raise and support her family and friends with the Southern spirit she lived.
Mrs. Rayne was preceded in death by her husband “Bob” of 52 years.
Survivors include six children, Katherine A. Rayne Schneider, Frederick S. Bronn Rayne, M. Elizabeth Rayne, Selena N. Rayne Hooper, John R. Rayne Jr. and Rebecca B. Rayne Rose; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can honor her through support of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or the American Heart Institute.
