FERRIDAY — Services for George Randy Briggs, 56, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 9 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B.J. Smith and the Rev. Dave Mays officiating.

Burial will follow at the Nichol’s Cemetery in Larto, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Briggs was born March 9, 1958, in Jonesville, the son of Walter “Mojo” Briggs and Verline Briggs.

He was employed by Ferriday Home Hardware Center.

Mr. Briggs was preceded in death by his parents and two grandmothers, Alice Adams of Larto Lake and Louise Briggs of Pineville, La.

Survivors include two daughters, Harmony Briggs and Paulnisha Harbor, both of Ferriday; one son, Paul Harbor of Ferriday; mother of his children, Deane Johnson of Ferriday; five sisters, Faye Massey and Reba Jones, both of Natchez, Kathy Thibodeaux of Lafayette, La., Sheryln Murphy and husband, Jack, of Longview, Texas and Carolyn Smith and husband, Daniel, of Vidalia; two brothers, Sherman Briggs and wife, Jeri, of Vidalia and Frankie Briggs and wife, Heidi, of Bastrop, La.; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Andy Briggs, Ron Wheeler, PJ Harbor, Blaine Briggs, Wink Prosper and DeShawn Mays.
