Even though their time in an Adams County Christian School uniform is over, Torrey Smith, Lester Wells and Trey Fleming will get to take the football field as high school football players one more time in the MAIS All-Star game.
“I’m very excited for those three,” ACCS head coach David King said. “Lester, Trey and Torrey helped for an exciting year, but I’m equally disappointed for Zach Pintard and Parker Rhymer. I thought they deserved it too. It was truly a pleasure to coach all these seniors.”
The Rebels’ season came to a close in the state championship game, where they fell to Centreville Academy, 35-21.
Centreville will be well represented in the game, with five selections, the most of any school.
Casey Haygood, Brian Arnett, Matt Darden, Chase Hughes and Parker Doughty will all take part in the contest.
“We’ve had four kids selected before, but five is the most we’ve ever had,” Centreville assistant coach Brian Stutzman said. “They were the backbone of our team. We wish everyone could make it. Winning district and being the number one seed allowed us to get more kids on the team.”
Wilkinson County Christian Academy will also have a representative in running back Rodney Boyd, who carried the Rams all season.
All the players will be a part of the South team and will play against the North All-Stars next Friday.
