LAUREL — Graveside services for Anna Lavada Bland, 88, of West Monroe, La., who died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel with the Rev. Greg Clark officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Crest Baptist Church, 3245 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, La.

Mrs. Bland was born May 27, 1926, in Laurel, the daughter of William Elbert Adams and Eva Kelly Adams.

She was a member of Ferriday First Baptist Church, Cedar Crest Baptist Church in West Monroe and the American Hospital Food Service Association.

Mrs. Bland was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe T. Bland; two sisters, Winnie Robinson and Helen Johnson; and one brother, Jack Adams.

Survivors include one daughter, Anna Bland Monk of West Monroe; one son, Thomas Bland and wife, Louise, of Brandon; two brothers, James Adams of North Carolina and Jerry Adams of Ellisville; two sisters, Cecil Buckley of Newton and Eva Mae Ruffin of Ellisville; three granddaughters, Amy Arrington and husband, Derek, Sandra Whitlock and husband, Kevin, and Tracye Eakes and husband, Patrick; grandson, Dean Monk Jr. and wife, Stacey; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Crest Baptist Church Missions Fund, 3245 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291.
