Mrs. Vicky Alexander of Natchez announces the engagement of her daughter, Valyncia Danielle Alexander to Jonathan Kerrelle Prater, son of Ms. Peggy Weathersby of Natchez and Mr. James Weathersby of Roxie.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Rev. Dan H. Alexander.

She is a graduate of Natchez High School and is attending Southern University in Baton Rouge.

She is the granddaughter of Ms. Carrie Lyles of Vidalia, the late Ms. Martha Curtis of Natchez and Mr. Dan H. Williams of Chicago.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Natchez High School and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez. He is employed by Dunleith in Natchez as a front desk supervisor.

He is the grandson of Mrs. Exelena P. Arbuthnot of Natchez, the late Mr. William Prater II of Natchez and the late Mrs. Mildred Jenkins of Roxie.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at True Love Missionary Baptist Church in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the Natchez Community Center.
