NATCHEZ — With 19 of 19 precincts reporting in Adams County, Walt Brown and Patricia Dunmore will face each other in a runoff election for the position of Adams County Court Judge.

Dunmore had received 2,988 votes, or 36.59 percent unofficial results from the Adams County Courthouse reports.

Brown received 2,478 votes, or 30.34 percent.

A runoff election will take place in three weeks on Nov. 25.

The race for Adams County Court judge — which oversees some civil and criminal matters and all youth court cases — had six contenders. The candidates ran without party affiliation because judicial seats are nonpartisan.

The other candidates received the following number of votes:

• Lamar Bullen — 937 votes or 11.47 percent

• Brandi Lewis — 760 votes or 9.31 percent

• Scott Pintard — 331 votes or 4.05 percent

• Scott Slover — 671 votes or 8.22 percent.

In the race for U.S. Senator, Thad Cochran took Adams County with 4,085 votes, or 50.41 percent, with 19 of 19 precincts reporting.

Democratic candidate Travis Childers received 3,871 votes, or 47.77 percent.

Reform candidate Shawn O’Hara received 107 votes, or 1.32 percent.

Unofficial statewide results showed Cochran winning the election.
