RIDGECREST — Services for Arvell “Bud” Peters, 84, of Clayton, who died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, in Clayton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Ridgecrest with Gay Bradford officiating.
Burial will follow at the Heard Cemetery in Manifest, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Peters was born Feb. 15, 1930, in St. Augustine, Texas, the son of Fisher and Ollie Peters.
He was employed as an electrician for more than 30 years. He was retired from Concordia Electric.
Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Catherine Jean Germany; one brother, Huey Peters; three sisters, Merline Harrison, Pauline Parker and Gladys Henry; and two grandsons, Michael Eugene Germany and Matthew Slade Dodd.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Ballance Peters; two daughters, Pat Hudnall and husband, Jan, of Jonesville and Dawn Dodd and husband, Charlie, of Ferriday; one son Ommi “Buster” Peters of Colorado; one grandson, Chris Hudnall and wife, Rachael, of Jena; two granddaughters, Debra Young and husband, Chad, of Jena and Michelle Germany of Deville, La.; one sister, Vernell Parker of Tucson, Ariz.; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
