Mrs. Gwendolyn Sims of Roxie announces the engagement of her daughter, Crystal Danielle Plummer to Kelenna Chikah Obonna, son of Dr. and Mrs. Rex and Priscilla Obonna of Abuja, Nigeria.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Ronald Plummer of Monroe, La., and the stepdaughter of the late Lee E. Sims Sr.

She is an alumni of The Piney Woods School in Piney Woods and is attending Houston Community College in Houston. She is employed by Amegy Bank of Texas in Katy, Texas.

She is the granddaughter of Erma Skinner of Ferriday and the late Robert L. Skinner Sr., and Willie Plummer of Natchez and the late Inez Plummer.

The groom is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C.

The wedding will be at noon Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Lindsay Lakes Chapel in Cypress, Texas.

A reception will follow at the couple’s home.
