NATCHEZ — Services for John Earl Hargrave Sr., 53, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Ellery officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the church.
Mr. Hargrave was born July 13, 1961, in Natchez, the son of Joseph Hargrave and Lillie B. Proby Hargrave.
He was a 1980 graduate of North Natchez High School and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army and the National Guard Reserve. He was employed by the Animal Medical Center.
Mr. Hargrave was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Celia Proby; paternal grandmother, Inez Wade; and one sister, Azelia Hargrave Belton.
Survivors include his mother; one son, John Earl Hargrave Jr. of Jackson; two grandchildren, Maddie Hargrave and Titus Welch, both of Jackson; three sisters, America Demby and husband, Melvin, Jacqueline Owens and husband, Roosevelt, and JoAnn Hargrave, all of Natchez; one aunt, Josephine Woods of Natchez; five nieces; four nephews; and other relatives and friends.
