Latyria L. Harried and Joseph C. Washington were married, Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, in a private ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. David and Betty Hamlin and Mr. and Mrs. Windell and Geraldine Harried, all of Fayette, and Lizzie M. Washington of Hazlehurst and the late Joseph Washington.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez, a 2008 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez and a 2012 graduate of the University of Mississippi in Jackson.

She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in health care administration.

She is employed by King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven and the University Medical Center-Batson Children Hospital in Jackson.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ellen B. Hamlin of Port Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Roger and Theresa Rankin of Fayette, Mrs. Lillie Mae Thomas of Chicago, the late Lieutenant and Lula Rankin, the late Randolph Hamlin, and the late Aaron Thomas.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Hazlehurst High School and a 2011 graduate of Alcorn State University in Lorman. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in biology.

He is also employed by the University Medical Center in Jackson.

He is the grandson of John Anderson of Jackson, the late Louella Jackson, the late Mr. and Mrs. Park and Mamie Washington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hess and Rosie Thompson.

The couple is planning a formal dinner reception.
