NATCHEZ — Residents who found their cars covered in eggs and paint Saturday night and Sunday morning certainly didn’t choose trick over treat.

Five reports of malicious mischief occurring between 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday morning were made with the Natchez Police Department this weekend.

An unknown suspect or suspects allegedly threw raw eggs and in some cases used red or blue paint or silly string to write short messages on at least seven cars.

The incidents occurred on Seargent S. Prentiss, Oak Hill and Dumas drives and two, separate reports were made on Creek Bend Road.

Suspects sprayed a truck on Seargent S. Prentiss with silly string and wrote, “Gotcha,” on the car’s windshield in red paint, according one report. The truck’s door handles were also painted red. The victim said in the report he wanted a report on file for insurance purposes because his car’s original white paint rubbed off when he tried to remove the red paint from the door handles.

“Gotcha” was also written in blue paint on a rear passenger window of a black Buick Lacrosse on Creek Bend Road, another report said. The same report said eggs were thrown at the Buick and the victim’s other car, a Ford Expedition.

Another victim living on Creek Bend Road said eggs hit both his cars, a Dodge Durango and Dodge Ram, and “Happy Halloween” was painted on the Durango in blue paint.

A Dumas Drive resident reported a suspect threw eggs on her daughter’s 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue.

An Oak Hill Drive resident reported his car was egged.

Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said there are currently no suspects, but juveniles are likely to have committed the acts of malicious mischief.

Most of the victims in the reports said they would be willing to file charges against the suspects.
