MONTEREY, La. — Memorial services for Harry H. McMichael Jr., 86, an architect from Monterey, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Monterey with the Rev. John Rushing officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. McMichael was a resident of Monterey for 20 years. He was a devoted husband and father, a veteran of the U.S. Army where he excelled in football and served as a paratrooper.
He was an accomplished architect with a number of buildings that he designed in both the United States and around the world that are still standing strong.
Mr. McMichael was a champion catamaran racing sailboat captain. He led a long and successful life that his family was so proud of. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. McMichael was preceded in death by his parents, Harry H. Sr. and Ruth McMichael.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela McMichael; seven children, Lynn Cozort, Colleem Leatherman, Jay McMichael, Michele Drew, Michael Maher, Alan Nelson and Krista Drew; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
