DENVER, Colo. — Services for William Dishman Jr., 77, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be today in Denver, Colo.

Burial will follow at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

Arrangements are under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Dishman was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Ferriday, the son of William and Leola Dishman.

He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Ferriday.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Dishman; his parents; one brother, Sonny Dishman; and one sister, Carrie Dishman.

Survivors include one daughter, Stacey Thomas; two special sons he raised as his own, Marquese Thomas and Isaiah Thompson; one aunt, Victoria Taylor; three close friends, Augustine Skipper, Virginia Washington and Lawrence Martin, all of Ferriday; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
