NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office officials are asking the public to help them find one of two trusties from the Adams County Jail who escaped Sunday.

ACSO spokesperson Courtney Taylor said deputies have been working this morning to track down leads based on information given to them by local residents regarding the whereabouts of Dominique Williams.

Williams, 20, ran from an Adams County jailer while the two were emptying trash in a dumpster in the parking lot behind the jail. Williams was arrested for burglary and probation violation and was made a kitchen trusty a month ago.

Anyone with information regarding Williams’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000. Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.

Taylor said investigators believe Williams is still in Natchez. Williams is described as a six-foot-one, 170-pound black male and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with grey and white striped pants.

Another inmate who escaped with Williams Sunday, Jonquil Jackson, was apprehended Sunday afternoon.

Jackson, 21, ran from the jailer and crew of trusties who were cutting brushes in the same parking lot. Jackson was arrested on two counts of burglary and receiving stolen property and was made a trusty with the road crew.

Both inmates were spotted and reported by citizens in the downtown area and later on the railroad tracks in Duncan Park.
