WOODVILLE — Services for Carl Bennett Walker Jr., 16, of Woodville, who died Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, as a result of an automobile accident, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Corinth Church of Christ in Woodville with the Rev. Bernard Waites and the Rev. Warren Whitaker Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Thursday, both at the church.
Carl was born June 15, 1998, in Baton Rouge, the son of Carl and Robin Byrd Walker of Woodville.
He was a student at Wilkinson County Christian Academy in Woodville.
Carl was a member of Corinth Church of Christ, president of the Robotics Club, a member of the Science Olympiad Team, member of the Honor Society, Student Council, the Tennis Team and the Quiz Bowl.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry Gene “Pawpaw Buck” Byrd and “Pawpaw” Howard McNeese; and two uncles, Wren Nevell and Ray Walker.
Survivors include his parents; one sister, Caroline Walker of Woodville; his grandparents, Elaine Byrd and Ravernell McNeese, both of Centreville, and Edward and Kathleen Walker of Woodville.
Pallbearers will be Chad Vines, Dane Garner, John David Jarreau, Sam Nicholas, Warren Whitaker Jr. and Jerry Byrd.
Honorary pallbearers will be the 2016 class of Wilkinson County Christian Academy.
