Natchez Air Evac pilot gets top company award

NATCHEZ — Russell Knight was recently honored as Air Evac’s companynational base clinical lead of the year.

He received the award Sept. 6 at the Air Evac Lifeteam National Awards Banquet in St. Charles, Mo.

Jennifer Fletcher, director of patient care services for Air Evac Lifeteam, said Knight is a great asset to Air Evac.

“Russell not only does an outstanding job with his day-to-day duties, but frequently offers assistance to new base clinical leads in the area,” Fletcher said. “He is driven and committed to the public, and to being there for the families in the communities he serves.”

Knight joined Air Evac in July 2012, and was surprised to receive the national award.

“I love being able to deliver a high level of care to the communities we serve,” he said.

Air Evac Lifeteam, an air medical service, provides rapid access to definitive health care for those who live in medically underserved areas. Flight crews, consisting of a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic, are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to the scene of an emergency, or provide transportation between medical facilities. Air Evac Lifeteam currently operates 115 bases in 15 states.
