WILDSVILLE, La. — Services for James W. “Jimmy” Wade, 68, a farm, cattle and hay business owner of Wildsville, La., who died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Denham Springs, La., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Evangeline Baptist Church in Wildsville with the Rev. Gary Wagoner and the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Wade Cemetery in Wildsville under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Wade was born Feb. 27, 1946, in Ferriday, the son of Elvin B. and Marguerite Blount Wade.

Jimmy was a member of Evangeline Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for more than 30 years. He also helped care for his home parish by serving on the Monterey Rural Water Board for 40 years and was a proud lifelong member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

Jimmy was a hard working businessman who instilled his work ethic on to his children. He was always available to anyone in need of a helping hand. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne “Sonny” Wade; and one sister, Joyce Wade Morace.

Mention must also be made of Jimmy’s beloved mare Cindy, one of the finest animals that ever walked the earth.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Suzanne Campbell Wade; one son, Aaron Wade and wife, Jorie, of Jonesville; one daughter, Sabra Wade and fiancé, DeWayne Hall, of Bernice, La.; one grandson, Woodrow Womack Wade; one granddaughter, Hadlee Jo Hall; one brother, David Wade and wife, Sharon, of Wildsville; one sister-in-law, Barbara Wade of Winnfield, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Jernigan, Brian Wade, Zack Stapleton, Justin Paul, Charlie Duck, John Morgan, John Miles and Bobby Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Evangeline Baptist Church, Lester Thompson, C.F. Evans, Kenneth McKay, Dale Fannin, Don Blount, Mike Taylor, Dewitt Carpenter and Bo House.
