Centreville rear ends Ben’s Ford in 48-14 win

CENTREVILLE — The Centreville Academy Tigers celebrated homecoming with a 48-14 win over the Ben’s Ford Christian School Eagles Friday night in the MAIS District 6-AA opener for both teams.

Centreville jumped out to a 14-0 lead within the first six minutes of the ball game and then took a 21-0 lead into halftime. The top-ranked team in Class AA scored 14 more points in the third quarter for a 35-0 advantage.

Ben’s Ford (3-2, 0-1) avoided being shut out when it scored a touchdown and added the 2-point conversion early in the fourth quarter. The Tigers ended up scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter while the Eagles put up 14 points.

Centreville (5-0, 1-0) will have its toughest test of the season next Friday at 7 p.m. when it visits Silliman Institute in a game that could very well determine the district championship.
