NATCHEZ — The Wilkinson County Wildcats were able to improve to 2-3 on the year with a 14-0 road victory against South Plaquemines. South Plaquemines fell to 0-3 with the loss.
“It was a very sloppy game,” said Wilkinson County head coach Kenneth Brown. “It was a sloppy field, and it was muddy. We’ve just got to score some more points.”
The points the Wildcats did score both came on LaWrence Smith touchdowns coming in the third and fourth quarter.
“Finally, we are buckling down in the third and fourth quarters,” Brown said. “We found a way at the end to score a touchdown, and we held on to the football. We’ve got to eliminate mistakes in crucial situations.”
Next up for the Rams is a home matchup with Greenwood at 7 p.m.
