FAYETTE — Services for Sarah D. “Big” Scott, 86, of Washington, who died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mariah Baptist Church in Fayette with the Rev. Stanford Cruel officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

Ms. Scott was born June 6, 1928, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Aaron Jeff and Sarah Hill Durrell.

She was a member of the Women’s Ministry and also served on the mother board of St. Mariah Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Scott; seven sisters; four brothers; and one grandson.

Survivors include one daughter; one son; one godson; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
