NATCHEZ — Services for Lucille Wimberly, 85, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Adams County Nursing Home, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fourth Street Church of Christ with the Rev. Dwight Greene officiating.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.
Ms. Wimberly was born June 7, 1929, in Natchez, the daughter of Leroy Spize and Carrie Stewart. She was a retired beautician.
Ms. Wimberly was a faithful member of Fourth Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Wimberly Sr.; and three children, Marshall Wimberly, Isaac Wimberly and Patricia Wimberly Rodgers.
Survivors include six sons, Larry Wimberly, Leroy Rydell Wimberly, Robert Wimberly Jr., Donald Wimberly and Cordell Wimberly, all of Natchez, and Tommy Lee Wimberly of Bossier City, La.; one granddaughter she raised, Angela Wright of San Diego, Calif.; two cousins, Barbara Hoskins and Fern Stewart, both of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and her church family at Fourth Street Church of Christ.
