MEADVILLE — Friday night’s game between the Tylertown High School Chiefs, the fourth-ranked team in Class 3A, and the Franklin County High School Bulldogs was cancelled due to lightning and unplayable field conditions.
Franklin County head coach Anthony Hart said it was a mutual agreement between him and Tylertown head coach Jason Johnson to call the game. Hart added that with this being a non-divisional game, it will not be made up.
“It is still lightning and it is still raining (in Meadville),” Hart said at 8 p.m. Friday.
The game was at first delayed by lightning and heavy rain midway through the first quarter with the game tied at 0-0. The weather came into the Meadville are from parts of southern Franklin County.
Franklin County (1-2) will travel to Magnolia next Friday to take on South Pike High School with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
