FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Douglas Robinson, 83, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at the VA Medical Hospital in Pineville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dunbarton Baptist Church with the Rev. Elbert Sanson officiating.
Burial will be Saturday at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Robinson was born March 21, 1931, in Coldspring, Texas, the son on Bettie Robinson.
Robinson was a resident of Ferriday and a member of Dunbarton Baptist Church, which became his extended family.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Robinson is preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dorothy “Dot” Robinson of Ferriday; one son, Dennis Robinson of Houston; one daughter, Denise Daigle and husband, Jim, of San Antonio; three granddaughters, Stacey Faircloth and husband, Alvin, of Virginia Beach, Va., Melissa Kirk and husband, Chris, of Houston, and Julie Beth Dalgle of San Antonio; and four great-grandchildren, Justin, Kayla and Logan Faircloth and Autumn Kirk.
