Police searching for purse snatcher

NATCHEZ — Police are looking for a man who stole a purse from an 87-year-old woman Sunday.
The woman fell, breaking her arm and sustaining facial injuries, during the incident.
The crime occurred at 1:55 p.m. in the Southside Market parking lot.
Two witnesses have provided information helping police form a description of the man and the vehicle in which he left.
Police Chief Mike Mullins said the suspect is a black male, approximately 30, heavy set and was wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
He ran to the rear of the building and got in the passenger side of a green Ford Expedition. The vehicle’s driver-side back window was taped up.

The purse contained approximately $7 and personal items.
The victim was transported to Natchez Regional Medical Center where she remained Monday night, a family member said. The woman, who walked with a walker before the incident, has a broken bone in her upper arm, a chipped tooth and facial abrasions.
