JACKSON — The Mississippi Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for 17-year-old Katelyn Beard.

Beard was last seen accompanied by the suspect, Dewayne Thompson. The pair were last seen traveling east on Lynda Street in Jackson in a 2009 Nissan Altima. The gray car has a Greene County license plate GRF 293.

Beard is described as a white female with long brown hair, brown eyes, 5-foot-four-inches tall and weighing 140 pounds.

Law enforcement officials say Thompson should be considered armed and dangerous.
