NATCHEZ — Services for Gary Lee Mills, 69, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at his residence, will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Natchez with the Rev. Timothy Blalock officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosefield Cemetery in Rosefield, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Mills was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Palo Alto, Calif., the son of David Riley Mills and Maxine Evalyn Shepard Mills. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Mills proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He worked as a deputy sheriff and as a welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Roger Mills; and one grandson, Christopher Lee Scott Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Mills; one son, Michael Mills of Commack, N.Y.; one daughter, Wendy Killinger of Chandler, Ariz.; one brother, David Mills of Punta Gorda, Fla.; one stepson, three stepsons, Cleve Williams of Vidalia, Tracy Norris of Clayton and Jackie Norris of Natchez; two stepdaughters, Marie Williams of Monroe, La., and Christie Graves of Natchez; and 22 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jorge Gonzalez, Jerrett Graves, Nicholas Norris, Alex Norris, Chamberlain Graves, Trey Price and Matthew Golden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tracy Norris, Ted Graves, Jackie Norris, Cleve Williams and Steve Killinger.
