NATCHEZ — Magnolia Bluffs Casino has been temporarily barred to customers as company officials work through an apparent electrical problem affecting the facility’s surveillance equipment.
Mississippi Gaming Commission Deputy Director Jay McDaniel said the gaming commission is in Natchez to monitor the situation and keep patrons out of the casino while the situation is being resolved.
“They are working to locate the issue, and it is strange be-cause it seems only to be affecting that (one) room,” McDaniel said. “But the surveillance (system) is down and they can’t operate while that is down.”
McDaniel said the casino should be able to reopen once the electronic issue is re-solved.
“They are looking at it and working on it, but right now we don’t have a timeline on it right now for when it might reopen,” he said.
Magnolia Bluffs Casino President Kevin Preston couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.
