NATCHEZ — Memorial services for James William “Jimmy” Blanton Sr., 62, of Natchez who died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church Reception Room with Dr. Doug Broome and the Rev. Derrick Burt officiating.

Upon Mr. Blanton’s request, his body was donated to the UMC Medical School for research.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Jimmy was born Dec. 6, 1951, in Koscuisko, the son of Irvin Word and Lula Mae Blanton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Leslie Ann Blanton.
