FERRIDAY — Two men and a juvenile are in jail after an alleged armed robbery in which the youth held the weapon while the adult stole from the victim.
Pierre R. Mays, 21, 381 Morning Star Alley, was arrested Sunday on charges of armed robbery and principal to aggravated assault with a firearm. A 15-year-old juvenile was also charged in the incident.
Ferriday Interim Police Chief Derrick Freeman said Mays and the victim had reportedly gotten into a fight recently after the victim accused Mays of breaking into his car.
Following the fight, Mays allegedly went to a Ferriday apartment complex and picked up the juvenile and found the victim again.
“(The victim) said the juvenile pulled the gun while Pierre Mays took $43 dollars, a food stamp card, a black and white bucket hat, a cell phone, a green work hard hat and another cell phone,” Freeman said.
After the robbery, the suspects reportedly returned to the apartment complex and got in a car to ride around with Jakendrics Blackson, 20, 27393 Louisiana 15, No. 115, Freeman said.
Blackson was arrested on a charge of principal to armed robbery Sunday.
Freeman said investigators have not been able to locate the gun or determine how the juvenile got the weapon, but the matter is under continued investigation.
“We are not going to tolerate this kind of action in Ferriday, especially these children with guns,” Freeman said. “That is unacceptable.”
The suspects were detained without bond Sunday.
