VIDALIA — Services for Rena Mae Thorpe, 77, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday both at the church.
Mrs. Thorpe was born May 23, 1937, in Franklin County, the daughter of Pearly Luther Campbell and Dolly Arnold Campbell.
She was a homemaker and a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thorpe was preceded in death by her husband, George C. “Dee” Thorpe Jr.; her parents; two sons, George C. Thorpe III, and Greg Thorpe; six brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, David Thorpe and wife, Joan, of Ferriday; six grandchildren, Charity White, George Matthews Thorpe, Dorothy Anne Thorpe, Hope Thorpe, Shanna Froust and Allen Froust; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Tingle and husband, T.H., of Grayson; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Mulvihill, Jimmy Frasier, John Frasier, Melvin Campbell, Jimmy Pell and Eric White.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arnell Rollins, Hunter Colton, and men of Riverside Baptist Church.
Memorials may be sent to Riverside Baptist Church of Vidalia or the American Kidney Foundation.
