WATERPROOF — Services for Louise Carroll Brown, 87, of Waterproof, who died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Adrian Lundy officiating.
Burial will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral with Eastern Star ceremonies at 6 p.m.
Ms. Brown was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Waterproof, the daughter of Nathaniel and Nellie Washington Carroll.
She was a retired teacher’s aide for Tensas Parish School System. She was a member of the Crescent Chapter No. 142 Order of the Eastern Star.
Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Cleveland Brown Jr. and wife, Deborah, of Los Angeles; four daughters, Lydia Battle and husband, James, Carolyn Jessie and husband, Carlton, all of Carson, Calif., Delores Brown Harrell and husband, Robert, of Bellflower, Calif. and Janet Brown of Los Angeles; one brother, Henry Carroll of Chicago; one sister, Ethel Walker of Tacoma, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one uncle, Joseph Carroll and wife, Constance, of New Orleans.
